Michelle Tutors: ELA: Grades K-12 (Reading & Writing) / TACHS: ELA

I have a BA in English Education from The College of Staten Island in Grades 7-12 Completing MA in Special Education Grades 7-12 (Graduating Spring 2021)

Hello! My name is Michelle.

I have been tutoring for 3 years, but this is my first year at Tutoring by Christine. I have tutored students of all ages in both reading and writing. I also tutor ELA for the TACHS test prep courses. I have a teaching license in Adolescent Education with a concentration in English. I am also currently working on my Master’s in Special Education. My experience working with children in a special education setting has allowed me to learn the skills necessary to help many different types of learners.

It is extremely rewarding to be able to make a difference in someone else’s life. I have always enjoyed reading and writing since I was in school myself. Being able to use all of the skills that I have learned throughout the years to help children is what keeps me motivated. Through reading, children are able to expand their own imagination and learn about the world around them. It opens the door to endless possibilities. Writing encourages students to take their own ideas and write them down to share with others. By teaching these subjects, I feel that I am helping children reach their full potential.
