“We teach, and encourage a love of learning, collaboration, and compassion. Everyone is a learner everyday.”

Tutoring By Christine is proud to be a Founding Member of the National Test Prep Association. This organization exists to foster collaboration among test prep providers, to share best practices, effective use of materials, and professional standards in the industry, and to advocate for the appropriate administration and use of standardized tests for admissions and assessment purposes.

Meet Christine Carroll.

Owner and lead instructor at Tutoring By Christine.
Christine has been teaching for over 25 years. She started her teaching career in Catholic School, which is where she began preparing students for the TACHS and SAT standardized exams.

She moved onto teaching at a private high school and then as a public school teacher. She is the recipient of the 2012 Senator Lanza Teacher of the Year Award.

Recently, she has obtained the additional position of lead teacher for the prestigious NYC Urban Advantage program. She has also worked as an adjunct professor for a local college for 6 years.

Christine is a member of the National Science Teachers Association and the Learning Disabilities Association of America.

She has always maintained ties with both the private and public communities. As a parishioner of a local church, she has been a volunteer for many charities. Furthermore, she contributes to her community by volunteering at various venues on Staten Island, most notably she leads an annual backpack drive for homeless students.

She has also been trained in the Orton-Gillingham methodology.
The Orton-Gillingham approach is a direct, explicit, multi-sensory, structured, sequential, diagnostic, and prescriptive way to teach literacy when reading, writing, and spelling does not come easily to individuals, such as those with dyslexia.

Christine is excited and motivated to be serving the needs of the community by offering affordable, quality tutoring services at Tutoring By Christine. She has always believed that all students can achieve success when properly motivated and directed.

Christine welcomes the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the most affordable and best tutoring services in the industry.

Testimonials

"My child has attended Tutoring by Christine since elementary school. As a younger student, my daughter received additional help in reading and mathematics. She has gained conceptual knowledge in mathematics and learned reading strategies which she utilizes in the classroom and while completing her homework. This has made her more confident and has built her self-esteem. Today my child is a High School honor student and she looks forward to her tutoring sessions for the NYS Regents Prep. As a parent, I am most grateful for the dedication of the staff, as a fellow educator, I am most grateful for their knowledge and the confidence they have instilled in my child."
