The best tutors for your interest, learning style, and for all your academic subject needs.
"My child has attended Tutoring by Christine since elementary school. As a younger student, my daughter received additional help in reading and mathematics. She has gained conceptual knowledge in mathematics and learned reading strategies which she utilizes in the classroom and while completing her homework. This has made her more confident and has built her self-esteem. Today my child is a High School honor student and she looks forward to her tutoring sessions for the NYS Regents Prep. As a parent, I am most grateful for the dedication of the staff, as a fellow educator, I am most grateful for their knowledge and the confidence they have instilled in my child."
“Thank you so much for all your support, motivation, and professionalism. We are so grateful for all you do.”
“My daughter has been going to Tutoring by Christine since 8th grade and it has helped her greatly by boosting her confidence and getting her ready to start HS. I will forever be grateful for all your help.”
How can a tutoring help me?
Your tutor will work with you to help you understand where you are having difficulty and how to find strategies to overcome obstacles to learning. A tutor can help you gain new perspectives on your learning by asking questions, explaining concepts in different ways, sharing examples and resources, helping connect prior knowledge to current classes, suggesting study strategies, providing encouragement, and more.
What is the difference between teaching and tutoring?
Teachers follow predetermined guidelines for the expectations for their class and evaluate students on that basis, while tutors focus on students’ individual academic needs and how to help them improve their skills in a specific subject.
What is a good tutor?
One of the most essential ingredients is chemistry. A good tutor will take the time to connect meaningfully with the student and their family. They will be caring and compassionate, but also professional and organized. Having a good rapport with the student will move a tutor from good to great.
What is the role of a tutor?
The goal of tutoring is to assist students to become independent learners and increase their motivation to learn. The tutor plays a vital and multifaceted role in supporting students’ academic learning.
